Nyack Is Now Trending As New Yorks Left Bank
We know why we love our Nyack, and now the rest of the New York area is starting to realize what the buzz is all about as well. In a recent article in the NY Times entitled “Nyack: The Bohemian (and Budget) Appeal of the Left Bank”, Nyack is being hailed as the Rive Gauche. (Just a reminder, the Rive Gauche refers to the left bank of the Seine, the River in Paris which was a popular hang out to Parisienne artists, musicians, writers and philosophers.) Many of the things we locals love about Nyack, such as the quaintness of the villages, the fantastic restaurants, the beautiful and diverse architecture, the friendliness, creativity and sincerity of the residents, and the general eclectic nature of the place are all things to draw people to our interesting community and which give it that Bohemian appeal. Nature lovers are drawn to Nyack because of the boating, kayaking, fishing, cycling and hiking. As the article points out, from a real estate point of view, Nyack is also being noticed for its affordability. Although property values have remained strong and taxes appear to be high, compared to Westchester County and other areas in the NY Metroplex including Bergen County, Nyack’s prices are generally more affordable.
Another great thing about Nyack is its close proximity to NYC, NJ, and CT which makes it a commuter’s paradise. It only takes 30 minutes to travel to the GW Bridge.
To sum it all up, when you chose to live in Nyack on the Hudson River, you’re not only buying a property, you’re buying a Lifestyle. The benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
(NOTE: Nyack is referring to the Villages of Nyack, Upper Nyack, and South Nyack.)
